I’ve only been on the pill for like two months, and I am a very light smoker. Averaged together, I barely smoke one cigarette a day, if that. But two or three nights sense I’ve been on the pill, I’ve woken up in the middle of the night with a sharp pain behind my right knee. I know that DVT is more likely to occur at night and its kind of psyching me out. Is it really that dangerous to smoke so little on the pill?
I don’t have any underlying health problems and I’m not overweight.

What position are you in while you suffer in hell?
I am a 19 year old female and in general in good health. I had h1n1 at the beginning of September, I never really got better from it. My chest hurt a lot after it, then it got mostly better. It was still hurting so I went to the doctor at the beginning of November. She gave me prednisone to get rid of any remaining inflammation because they though I had pleurisy from the flu in September. It got a lot worse after that. My chest really hurts on my sides at the bottom of my rib cage, its hard to breathe and my kidneys or the area around there hurt a lot too. I have a clear x-ray, EKG, Sed rate, my breathing sounds normal, my peak flows are bad, but that is the only thing they have found so far besides pain. I don’t have a fever or a high white blood cell count. I got a cough yesterday, but I haven’t had one the rest of the time. It hurts a lot to sit up or press on the area, or move my arms. I have a high heart rate, but normal blood pressure. My d-dimer levels are normal. My voice is hoarse. I feel really nauseous. It is better when I lay down for a while. They really don’t know what is wrong. Any ideas?
Chest and back pain in a 19 year old female?
First off, please dont correct me, and tell me that not *everybody* in high school is stupid. Its a vast and sweeping generalization on my part, I am quite well aware, as Ive known my share of semi-intelligent people over the course of the past three years. Those people, however, are most surely the minority, and a minority that seems to be not expanding in the least. Being in my junior year and looking at the freshmen and sophomores, I think I can say, that at least at my school, kids are getting duller, as well as becoming more and more detached from the real world.
Its frustrating, to be honest. I dont get how other guys can sit around and waste an entire lunch period yapping about a game comprised of a bunch of sweaty men chasing an oblong ball around a field, or about which girls theyd like to bang the most. In retrospect, girls arent much better. Instead of sports, all they seem to like to do (At least, at this stage in life) is rant about their never-ending boy problems, cell phones, and how dumb their parents are. Maybe its not really that big of a deal; maybe kids everywhere are like this, and theres something wrong with me for wanting to talk about politics, religion Something I consider meaningful. Im not being sarcastic when I say that. Everybody has a different version of what they consider to be interesting, and maybe what I find interesting and important isnt in the grand scheme of life. I am, however, entitled to my opinion, and my opinion is that other kids my age are a bunch of babbling monkeys.
Yeah. Sorry if it sounds like Im an arrogant prick, Im really not. Im just very frustrated with school, educators, and my fellow students at the moment. It isnt that I get bullied or anything of the like there are few people with whom I dont get along well with but sometimes Im reducing to wanting to smash my head into a break wall because of how ignorant so many kids are. Instead of actually wanting to appear to be relatively intelligent, its almost as if they *want* to seem as stupid as possible. There was a moron in one of my classes last year who thought he was the ultimate B.A. redneck because he ran over and killed his own dad while mud-bogging. What the Hell?!?
Course work isnt much better either. This upcoming trimester, Ill have AP English, AP Government/Politics, and AP Economics. None of the work Ive done in any AP classes so far has been challenging at all to me, but I just feel continuously bogged down by the preposterous amount of homework that were assigned in every single class. How, or more importantly, why are we expected to dedicate almost all of our free time to school work? Honestly, I have friends, I have a life, I have sports, hobbies, and interests Why in the world am I expected to spend virtually all of my free time typing boring, long, and easy assignments and papers out? In AP English, weve an essay to write just about every night, book assignments every other night, and theyre all the same bloody thing. Other kids in the class whine and whine about how challenging the coursework is; personally, to reiterate, I dont find it challenging in the least, at least in terms of the work alone. I find the real challenge in getting all this shit, for lack of a nicer word, done in the two or three hours I have when Im actually home. I absolutely refuse to stay up past midnight or one or two in the morning doing schoolwork I dont care that much about my so-called education to sacrifice my well-being and mental health so that I can get useless, garbage assignments done, and a gold star on my papers.
Sorry if this seems more like a rant than a question. I guess Im just taking out my frustrations with the public schooling system here, and my problems connecting with other people my own age. Its just that Im a relatively good-looking guy, Ive got my group of friends, Im a pretty nice person, one of those people that thinks that everyone has a special talent, maybe not an outstandingly brilliant one, but something that can take them far in whichever area of life they choose to succeed in But I just dont know how longer I can take this. Part of me just wants to quit school altogether and join the fricking Mafia or something, the more sane part of me is telling me to stay in so that I can actually go somewhere in life some day.
Just not sure what to do. Once again, sorry about the rant, the question Im asking is in the title, this is all just irrelevant crap about myself.

At any rate, science isn’t really my “thing”. Neither is math, for that matter. I’m still better at those subjects than a good number of people, but the areas that I feel that I particularly excel at are literary fields and political debate, theories, etc.
Not to say that I don’t have weaknesses is non-academic areas. =) Most people would probably think I’m a loser because I just can’t understand the rules of football for the life of me.

So I’m a senior at high school and I talked to an army recruiter whether I could join the 9 week basic training to man myself up before I go to college. Turns out I have to actually serve in the army if I want to participate. I became really cautious about joining the army since I have the chance to go to the Middle East, but the pros outweighed the cons so much (my entire family would get US citizenship in six weeks and have full health care, also I would get tuition to go to college) that I decided to take the ASVAB. I scored 98th percent tile and 135 on GT (General Technical). My recruiter told me that I can have any job in the army but since I’m not a US citizen, half of the jobs are unavailable for me. My parents thought it was really nice at first, but when they heard that soldiers were being sent to Middle East like hotcakes even the ones in the reserve army, they changed their mind. So I want to ask the veterans who went to the Middle East (Iraq or Afghanistan) what their experience was like and if the visit to the place has caused any psychological impact on them. Also I know this is a sissy question, but if I chose to become paralegal specialist would I still have to go to the Middle East? And if I do would I have the least amount of chance to get injured?
I really want to go to Vanderbilt or Tufts University after serving in the army for 2 years so I can become a child psychologist. And I definitely don’t want to have any post traumatic stress disorder to ruin the career that I want to pursue.

Hi i’m living in Toronto and want to volunteer in a hospital so that i will know what kind of atmosphere i will work in when i grow up. The closest hospital is the Etobicoke General Hospital ( William Osler Health Centre chain). I checked the website and it gives very vague ideas of what you have to do and what you will have to do as a volunteer. I tried contacting them and they told me to come in and talk. I dont really want to do that until i know, for sure, that i want to volunteer. If anybody can give me details on being a volunteer that would be great.

I have had my wisdom teeth out for several years now. None of them are impacted and fully surfaced. After a bought of bad health my teeth have started to shift forward in my mouth and it just doesn’t seem like my mouth has enough room for all these teeth. It has caused me to have jaw tension, headaches, and my bite is getting off. How are fully surfaced wisdom teeth removed? What is involved in the procedure? I found lots of info online about impacted wisdom teeth but not surfaced wisdom teeth. Also can they just do local instead of general anesthesia? I don’t want to be put under and I don’t have any anxiety about having my teeth worked on.

why are so many people so opposed to the idea of everyone having government funded health care i personally support a health care system following Canada’s lead?
A Canadian health care system would eliminate much the bureaucratic waste that plagues the American system. According to the General Accounting Office of the US congress, the savings from consolidating the bureaucracy of the U.S. health care system into one such as the Canadian system would be upwards of $100 billion annually. Without increasing the total amount of money spent in the US on health care, this money could be redirected to pay for the costs of including everyone, rich or poor, in a nationalized insurance program that could even cover co-payments and deductables. The Canadian system simply offers more for your money: more and better care than US HMOs, at a lower cost. Honestly why dont people get that a government provided healthcare is a good idea?

My husband and I got married a little over 7 months ago, he joined the army only a couple months before that, we are both new to this and both so lost. I have tons of questions, and maybe you just know some things that will help me that i don’t even know i have questions about yet.
Okay we were stationed in Fort Lewis but he was deployed in Sept. and since then I have moved back to Texas to stay with family until he gets back, now how do I change our location so we can receive BAH for here, because I found out you get more for down here than we did in Washington.
Next, also I was told by the tricare lady in Fort Lewis that once I moved I would have to go to the nearest army base to my home in Texas to set up my tricare all over again… Is this true? Because I am no where near an army base, and I really would like to have a doctor to be able to go to :(

What were the main characteristics of the “American System” ? I know that during this time in America, we had a primitive state of transportation (not very many roads connecting the northern colonies to the southern colonies) and it was difficult to move men and goods around the country… In 1808, a man named Albert Gallatin (who was President Jefferson’s secretary of treasury) proposed a plan to Congress that outlined for the federal government to tie the nation together by constructing roads and canals up and down the eastern seaboard. In his State of the Union address to Congress in December 1815, Pres James Madison put forward blueprints for an economic development (government-promoted) that came to be known as the “American System.” His plan rested on three pillars, I know… 1) Building a new national bank since the Bank of the United States went out of existence when its charter expired in 1811… 2) A tariff on imported manufactured goods to promote American industry…. and 3) The federal financing of improved roads and canals. Although the mainstream media likes to pretend that Republicans are obstructionists and Democrats are one with Obama, this would seem to indicate there is an ACTUAL grassroots movement to take back the govt. from the central bankers for the people. A desperate, last-minute attempt to thwart the move came in the form of an amendment championed by Rep. Mel Watt (D-N.C.) and described by its supporters as more reasonable. On Tuesday, however, the Huffington Post reported that, on a close reading, his amendment would in fact decrease transparency at the Fed by adding additional restrictions.
Backers of the Watt amendment pressed their case on Wednesday by sending a letter from a “political cross section of prominent economists” backing a measure like Watt’s. HuffPost reported, however, that those economists might well have be prominent, but they certainly aren’t a “political cross section.” Seven of the eight economists in question have extensive connections to the Fed — and half of them are currently on the Fed payroll. My step mom is struggling with dementia and has well over a million dollars that my dad left after he died. He left a family friend and professional in charge of her finances because she had never been good with handling money. My mom lives in Hawaii and I am in Missouri so we are very far from each other which makes it hard for me to know what is going on. The lady that my dad appointed to handle finances hired a caretaker to live with my mom so that she would have company and be safe. The caretaker made friends with my mom and took her to the bank to put her name on the accounts. We have now gotten to the point where the caregiver has fired the lady that hired her and convinced my mom that I am stealing money from her and that we are not on speaking terms. I am so frightened that the care taker is going to steal all of my mom’s money and then leave. Is there anything I can do to fire her or secure my mom’s money?

I’m only sixteen. I was involved in a sexual intercourse and I was afraid of getting pregnant. I didn’t know who to turn to, and there was one person. I tell my sister everything, but I didn’t know if it was best to tell her or not. Her younger sister–of all people, in a risky situation. I told her. She’s still angry at me, and I understand why she has the right to be. I’m VERY VERY ashamed and disappointed in myself. I am in a lose lose position when we have a fight (or a serious discussion) with my bf of 1 year and a half. He turns cold and distant whenever we had “the” discussion. Then I just feel hurt further. There has never been a makeup session for us. I had told him that doesn’t make the relationship grow, but he said that he can’t reward fighting. My ex was the same way, so we eventually grew further and further apart. I started to think that maybe the way I say things can turn negative… I have learned from my ex trying not be unhappy quietly, instead I talked candidly with my current bf. But he reacts cold too. Am I wrong, or I am always running into the wrong men? When they do this, I feel impossible to learn about each other and grow the relationship.

But bear with me :) The car screeched around the corner, and Ayla froze at the crosswalk. Maybe they were drunk or high on something. Or maybe they were just running late, but whatever there excuse they didnt see her. Her mind screamed at her to run, or just to do something, but here body couldnt. They werent stopping. Theyre going to hit me, she realized. Aylas heart thudded in her chest, as the car sped closer, an incoming death. Her whole body tingled, lightening shot through her. The Avalon raced toward her like an arrow. She squeezed her eyes shut, and braced herself. But the impact never came. The scent of exhaust burned her nose, and caused Ayla to open her eyes. Startled to see the underside of a car, she jolted and sat up. Luckily the car drove forward as she did, saving her from a nasty bump on the head. That car it was going to hit me I should be dead. She thought over and over, seeing the image of the car racing towards her. Oh my gosh! And a thudding of feet on the asphalt brought a person into her view. Are you ok? Did you get hit? What happened? The young man was frantic. Black fuzzed around her vision, and Ayla swayed. Somebody help! I think she was hit! His voice sounded distant, then more rushing of feet. She couldnt concentrate. Everything lacked clarity, it felt like a dream. More bodies appeared in front of her. Concerned brown eyes stared into her silver ones. Their lips formed a question. Ayla wanted to tell them that she was fine, just tired, But her head was heavy. And the world, it kept spinning. She was so dizzy. She finally managed in a mumble Just tired, before she let the blackness roll over her. A welcome sleep. She was being cradled in someones arms. Panic and fear filled the atmosphere. Ayla felt small, and was wrapped in warm blankets. Voices cried out, but Ayla could not understand them. Crying rang in her ears. It took a moment before she realized it was her. Why am I crying? She was utterly confused, whats going on? It was a dream, she realized. It had the feel, but still felt more vivid then her normal dreams. That could have been due to her extreme exhaustion, or perhaps it was a fever dream. .Usually her dreams didn’t make sense at all – things like riding the magic school bus to a desert house at the bottom of the ocean, and finding her fifth grade teacher as a zombie. This dream, though it felt familiar in a way. Maybe it was based on a movie she’d seen. Things around her were pure chaos. Things were exploding, and she was disturbed by the noises. The woman, who carried Ayla looked down at her burden, shushing her with friendly hazel eyes. Kristy had to get Ayla out of the hospital before she broke something important. Plus, antiseptic smell was making her head hurt. Ayla laid restlessly twitching, and obviously not having a peaceful sleep. This was causing her to fly out of out of control. Due to Aylas dominant blood line, Kristy-also of strong blood – was struggling to keep her from braking hospital equipment-or people. Then finally the nurse came bustling in, and Kristy stood up. I would like to take my daughter home now She said, putting emphasize on the now. The red headed nurse frowned, I dont think that would be wise. Wed like to wait until she wakes up to question her. There is no concussion, no broken bones or bruises, not even a scratch to suggest she may have been hit by a car or anything else for that matter. Am I correct? Well yes but- Then Id like to take her home, Kristy interrupted, impatiently. Which was uncharacteristic for her, but the smell and effort of controlling Ayla along with her stress had drained any patience. She needed to get them both out of there before she herself fainted from Power Overexertion. Sighing the nurse said shed go fetch the doctor. As Kristy waited she drummed her fingers on the table, listened to the ticking of the clock and the sounds of Ayla moving on the bed. She had small beads of sweat on her forehead when at long last the Doctor walked in. He tried as the nurse had-unsuccessfully – to convince Kristy to leave Ayla at the hospital. She promised shed bring her back in at the smallest sign of a problem. The nurse wheeled a groggy Ayla out to the car, and together the two women hauled her in. Ayla was still disoriented, so Kristy let her be. The drive home was long with the continuing battle over Ayla’s powers. She decided as soon as Ayla was well, shed tell her what she was. I’ve finally gotten started with my dream of creating 3d entertainment. I code and create all on my own, teaching myself with freeware, and saving as much as I can for that degree. Every day I learn more and become happier and happier with my progress. But lately I’ve felt this frightening realiziation looming over me as I create. I am using terminology and mathematics that my friends and family do not understand. I find myself overdoing things to a point that I no longer make sense. I’ve caught myself working like a computer, in that i mean I’ll find logical reasons of why I don’t have information at hand I know in certain situations, finding emotions to be more and more distant. I’ve tried taking breaks and just having fun with friends, but inside I feel less and less human I guess I could say. Is this normal? Does it pass? Am I crazy in my own pursuit for a dream job?
Learning… with a price….?
My friend, Ralee, is a HUGE fan of Super Junior, a Korean boy-band. I don’t really like them because I cannot understand the lyrics (Korean) so I think it is useless listening to their songs. Ralee still loves them and is willing to learn Korean so that one day she can go to Korea and meet them. That is ok with me, because I have a similar dream about France!!! You see, in my class, a Korean Girl (Ji Young), totally infected everyone with her evil charms and made them love everything about Korea. Now she left for USA and everyone is still mad about Korea, including Ralee. The Clique* misses her like she died or something! My problem is that since Ralee loves Super Junior, she will somehow get into the Clique*. This is horrible because then she will stop being friends with me. She is already very distant from me because she is in Red Cross, so she has loads of friends from there and she probably doesn’t think of me as one of her best friends… I don’t want to lose her as a friend. I have this girl that I’ve been dating for about a month and half now… Always have good dates and everything is going good and smooth… And we always text back and forth throughout the day lately… guess 6~7 times per day (back and forth) Now, however, since yesterday, she didn’t respond to my text (which was response to her txt) that I sent on 1pm. And no response till night.. so I txted again at 10pm as I was walking out of my friend’s (a casual txt, no mention of no reply or anything, just said I’m going home from my friends, how are ya?) Then she txts back saying she was busy and have good night… Now, it’s the morning.. and usually she txts me early to say good morning (maybe I got too used to it) but she didn’t so I did around 8am, it’s not 10am, no reply…. How should I react? or what’s my course of action? + Bullet Points + – I’m not being needy here… I’m just trying to learn how to react in smart, and good ways. – I don’t need txt back right away as I had exs who would respond 4~5 hours later… however this girl always txted right back. – My concern comes from the fact that she used to be a very good communicator who just dropped out of no where with no warning or signs… It’s a big long, but I figured you need information to give me informed answer. What should I do if girl that I’m dating is acting a bit distant?
Well, that probably didn’t say much. But what I mean is…I’m a freshman, a 9th grader. My whole life, I haven’t been able to do math very well, or history, or English. And anytime I can’t understand something I panic. It’s just how my brain is wired. Everyone keeps telling me I’m normal, but nobody else is like me. When I try to do math, learn more, do the work, I know I’m supposed to care and will probably die in the future, but I can’t work under stress, knowing that makes me more stressed, which makes me freak out, so I can’t do it which makes me more stressed because my dads gonna kill me. So then I tell my teacher I just can’t concentrate what I’m doing, it doesn’t process through my head. It’s kinda the forget what you just read, in one ear out the other thing. Recently I’ve also had sleeping trouble. I forgot how to fall asleep, as happens occasionally. So I wait to pass out, then if I wake up in the night can’t get back to sleep. My mind is almost never at ease. I feel so overwhelmed with everything even though nothing is going on. Lots of people have it so much worse then me but in my head.. It seems like I’m just in a bubble or something. Like, I try to think and it seems so faint and distant and then the thoughts disappear. Since I haven’t been sleeping lately, I feel dizzy alot now too. Every time I do sleep I dream. Usually I don’t dream. I haven’t had as much of an appetite as usual and get the occasional stress headache. It makes no sense to me. If I haven’t done much of anything all year, haven’t turned anything in in those classes, why am I so stressed? But I’m to stressed to work on it. I’d talk to the counselor but I don’t understand how the process works and don’t know her and am not good with social events so then I panic even more and out of habit spurt out a bunch of nonsense. I know I have the ability to learn the material, but some reason.. I just can’t, even if I try. My dad doesn’t stop to think WHY I’m not a good student, why I don’t do what I’m supposed to. He just assumes and tries to punish me, which never works. Because materials mean nothing, and physical pain doesn’t bother me. Yet he keeps trying this tactic. Even if it never works. He never stops to understand me. Never. Any time he ever asked what was wrong, I’d try to tell him and burst out crying because of my inability to communicate with anyone other then my friends. If I manage to tell him, he forgets and brushes it off almost an hour later. There’s no point. I gave up on him already. My mom left when I was 7. At the time it tore me up pretty bad, but I can’t say I’ve changed much since then anyway. I still can’t talk to people, especially guys (natural hatred), I still can’t handle stress, I still don’t understand people… I can’t do anything. Help?Well, it’s not JUST math. Also with english and history. And I can’t generally problem solve for myself, I can’t answer the phone. I just panic. I constantly think scenarios where things could go horribly wrong. I went to a concert and all I could think about is what to do if there was an earthquake, even though this area doesn’t even have earthquakes. I panic about everything really.My dad doesn’t think so. He sees something wrong and gives me a time limit to fix it. The two guys in my house are the most misunderstanding creatures on the planet. Trust me on that. I try to figure things out bit by bit, but usually that even makes me freak out and panic. It just happens anytime I feel overwhelmed. With the sleeping thing, I can never sleep well. Big family, some people stay up until midnight or later with no regards for others even if I ask them to stop. That certainly doesn’t help at all. But, my issue is, you know how you can wake up in the middle of the night and turn over and fall right back to sleep immediately? I can’t. I’ll lay there for hours trying to calm myself, but I just feel bad. All the time. Once I woke up pissed off, once I cried, once I wanted to die, for no reason, no triggers, just felt that way. It takes me a very long time to figure things out. Usually one bit per day kind of think. And normally I’m to tired to think anyway.

i’m wondering what types of services an organisation that provides IT Support and Technical services can provide to customers.
i can only think of providing support for Bug fixing for the product environment and about 5 days of technical training.
can someone give me some ideas and possibly also a website for the fee structure of something like this. i can’t find any figures that other companies are charging cuz its always just variable or fixed costs and no actual numbers. a website wud be of much appreciation thank you in advance

0Business process outsourcing (BPO) is a form of outsourcing that involves the contracting of the operations and responsibilities of a specific business functions (or processes) to a third-party service provider. Originally, this was associated with manufacturing firms, such as Coca Cola that outsourced large segments of its supply chain.. In the contemporary context, it is primarily used to refer to the outsourcing of services.
1BPO is typically categorized into back office outsourcing – which includes internal business functions such as human resources or finance and accounting, and front office outsourcing – which includes customer-related services such as contact center services.
2BPO that is contracted outside a company’s country is called offshore outsourcing. BPO that is contracted to a company’s neighboring (or nearby) country is called nearshore outsourcing.
3Given the proximity of BPO to the information technology industry, it is also categorized as an information technology enabled service or ITES. Knowledge process outsourcing(KPO) and legal process outsourcing (LPO) are some of the sub-segments of business process outsourcing industry.
4India has revenues of 10.9 billion USD from offshore BPO and 30 billion USD from IT and total BPO (expected in FY 2008). India thus has some 5-6% share of the total BPO Industry, but a commanding 63% share of the offshore component. This 63% is a drop from the 70% offshore share that India enjoyed last year, despite the industry growing 38% in India last year, other locations like Eastern Europe, Philippines, Morocco, Egypt and South Africa have emerged to take a share of the market. China is also trying to grow from a very small base in this industry. However, while the BPO industry is expected to continue to grow in India, its market share of the offshore piece is expected to decline. Important centers in India are Bangalore, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Mumbai, Pune, Chennai and New Delhi.
5The top five Indian BPO exporters for 2006-2007 according to NASSCOM are Genpact, WNS Global Services, Transworks Information Services, IBM Daksh, and TCS BPO.
6According to McKinsey, the global “addressable” BPO market is worth $122 $154 billion, of which: 35-40 retail banking, 25-35 insurance, 10-12 travel/hospitality, 10-12 auto, 8-10 telecoms, 8 pharma, 10-15 others and 20-25 is finance, accounting and HR. Moreover, they estimate that 8% of that capacity was utilized as of 2006
7An advantage of BPO is the way in which it helps to increase a companys flexibility. However, several sources have different ways in which they perceive organizational flexibility. Therefore business process outsourcing enhances the flexibility of an organization in different ways.
8Most services provided by BPO vendors are offered on a fee-for-service basis. This can help a company becoming more flexible by transforming fixed into variable costs. A variable cost structure helps a company responding to changes in required capacity and does not require a company to invest in assets, thereby making the company more flexible. Outsourcing may provide a firm with increased flexibility in its resource management and may reduce response times to major environmental changes.
9Another way in which BPO contributes to a companys flexibility is that a company is able to focus on its core competencies, without being burdened by the demands of bureaucratic restraints. Key employees are herewith released from performing non-core or administrative processes and can invest more time and energy in building the firms core businesses. The key lies in knowing which of the main value drivers to focus on customer intimacy, product leadership, or operational excellence. Focusing more on one of these drivers may help a company create a competitive edge.
10A third way in which BPO increases organizational flexibility is by increasing the speed of business processes. Using techniques such as linear programming can reduce cycle time and inventory levels, which can increase efficiency and cut costs. Supply chain management with the effective use of supply chain partners and business process outsourcing increases the speed of several business processes, such as the throughput in the case of a manufacturing company.
11Finally, flexibility is seenas a stage in the organizational life cycle. BPO helped to transform Nortel from a bureaucratic organization into a very agile competitor. A company can maintain growth goals while avoiding standard business bottlenecks. BPO therefore allows firms to retain their entrepreneurial speed and agility, which they would otherwise sacrifice in order to become efficient as they expanded. It avoids a premature internal transition from its informal entrepreneurial phase to a more bureaucratic mode of operation.
12A company may be able to grow at a faster pace as it will be less constrained by large capital expenditures for people or equipment that may take years to amortize, may become outdated or turn out to be a poor match for the company over time.
13Although the above-mentioned arguments favor the view that BPO increases the flexibility of organizations, management needs to be careful with the implementation of it as there are a issues, which work against these advantages. Among problems, which arise in practice are: A failure to meet service levels, unclear contractual issues, changing requirements and unforeseen charges, and a dependence on the BPO which reduces flexibility. Consequently, these challenges need to be considered before a company decides to engage in business process outsourcing
14A further issue is that in many cases there is little that differentiates the BPO providers other than size. They often provide similar services, have similar geographic footprints, leverage similar technology stacks, and have similar Quality Improvement approaches.
15Risk is the major drawback with Business Process Outsourcing. Outsourcing of an Information System, for example, can cause security risks both from a communication and from a privacy perspective. For example, security of North American or European company data is more difficult to maintain when accessed or controlled in the Sub-Continent. From a knowledge perspective, a changing attitude in employees, underestimation of running costs and the major risk of losing independence, outsourcing leads to a different relationship between an organization and its contractor.
16Risks and threats of outsourcing must therefore be managed, to achieve any benefits. In order to manage outsourcing in a structured way, maximizing positive outcome, and minimizing risks and avoiding any threats, a Business Continuity Management (BCM) model is setup. BCM consists of a set of steps, to successfully identify, manage and control the business processes that are, or can be outsourced.Another framework, more focused on the identification process of potential outsourceable Information Systems, identified as AHP, is explained.L. Willcocks, M. Lacity and G. Fitzgerald identify several contracting problems companies face, ranging from unclear contract formatting, to a lack of understanding of technical IT – processes.

Well, My family hit a deer on the freeway approximately 3 years ago. We went home and called to tell them that we were in an accident like we were supposed to do. Well a day or 2 later, they wouldn’t do anything to help us pay to get a new car because it was totaled. Has anybody ever had this problem with this insurance company? We bought a quote from Safe Auto after my dad canceled his coverage with progressive.

First of all to answer this question you need to know what happened. We were driving home from L.A. and we were involved in an auto accident that invovled us, a drunk driver and three huge buses. The drunk driver swerved from his lane and connected with the first bus. They collided and the bus hit him and spun him into our lane. The bus lost their bumper. We tried to slam on our brakes but when a car spins out in front of you suddenly from in front of a big bus, it’s hard to avoid. We hit the side of his car. Our entire front bumper and hood were completely messed up. Thankfully, the car still could drive. No one was hurt and this (unfortunately) included the drunk driver. We got police to take statements (took them 45 minutes to show up). We have a copy of the actual police report at this point and it states this guy was drunk with an A.B.L. Of .80 and that he was also un-liscenced. We’ve filed police reports with both our insurance company and the drunk driver’s. Our deductible is $500.00 but we are short on cash (trying to save that presently). We also have been told that since he was 100% at fault that his insurance company should pay our deductible. We feel like we are getting hung out to dry as it is almost a month later and still his insurance company refuses to help us even though they have a copy of the police report. The latest excuse is that they need the policy number of the bus that was hit and an estimate of the damage which they have been unable to obtain. They also cannot get ahold of the guy who was at fault (no shock there) but know based off the police report and tow company that the car was junked. We just want to know if there’s anything at this point that we can do? Are we, the victims, really stradled with shelling out $500.00 because they can’t get insurance on on the bus who also wasn’t at fault? Anything we can do?Sorry, for clarification, I meant that we have filed claims with both insurance companies. We were awe struck to find out that the drunk driver had never filed a claim.We have considered during the guy at fault but unfortunately, we’d probably have no case against his insurance company. Also unfortunate is that this guy has not been able to be contacted. There’s a good chance he wouldn’t even show up to court even if we did sue him…

Hello Quick question I was it an auto accident (no fault) and The repairs are close to Total loss (need to wait a few days to find out). If its not total loss can I request a check for the amount of the repairs? Or how can I fight to make it a total loss. The amount of damages that are they after accident is more than what I could sell the car today without an accident. Is there a way to have them cut a check for that price and they keep the car or have them do a total loss? Tell them I dont want the car and resale after car etc? Please help
Car Insurance total Loss Question?
I had a letter from the Post Office today saying that I owe them ?264.17 on a policy that has ended. When I took out the insurance in September 2007 I was on a provisional license and then passed my test in October 2007. After a few days of passing my test and receiving policy details I rang up the Post Office and told them that I had passed and that also they were spelling my name incorrectly on the document. The woman assured me it was all changed. I then continued my insurance with them for another year until changing to Auto Trader in September 09 as they could offer a better quote. Now the post office have sent me a letter saying that I never told them I passed my test and I owe them ?264.17. When ringing them up they told me that they keep a record of whenever I phone and there wasn’t any record of this call. But I definatly phoned them! Surely this is their mistake (they still keep spelling my name wrong too!) but they are denying it and just telling me I HAVE to pay it. I don’t know how I can prove that I phoned them if they never logged it?! I was also never aware that it would be more expensive after I passed my test, I always thought it would make it cheaper. I don’t really know what to do now and could do with some advice! Thanks, Laura

Oregon Auto Insurance?
Hi all, I am going to Hawaii from 13 to 29 December, and I would definitely like to rent a car. Here are a few facts:
1) I am over 24 but under 25
2) I am a Canadian citizen but I have a Greek passport (I study in Ottawa).
3) I do have an international driving license.
4) I only have health insurance provided by my university; no auto insurance whatsoever..
I checked around and found many car rental companies in Hawaii that offer car rentals with small or no additional cost to young drivers. So the issue for me is the insurance. Could you please advise me on my best options? Should I buy insurance from here (Canada) or there? How much should I expect to pay for 2 weeks? Any companies that you recommend? My purse (along with car keys) was stolen a few weeks ago. I called Toyota to get an approximation as to how much it would cost to replace the keys (just over $350 for a remote and transmitter key). My mom (I’m still under my parent’s insurance) contacted our insurance agency and they said they would cover it and our rates would not increase. I figured the car should be rekeyed too since the thieves had my address. I went to Toyota to get a written estimate – they were having trouble printing off a written estimate and wrote it on a card – rekeying would be just over $350 so keys+rekeying = just over $700. My mom sent my dad today to get it written on company letterhead, etc. and he came back with an over $2,000 estimate – it looks like they actually want to pull the locks out and replace a computer??? So my mom is saying we’re not putting in a claim because our insurance rates will increase (even though no one has said they would increase) in the meantime I have to worry about my car being stolen (I have a club on it), people going into it, etc. So, typically, would one’s auto insurance rates increase after putting in a claim for theft? Does it make a difference if it’s $700 or $2,000? I would just figure the insurance company wants your car to be as safe as you do so you don’t have to claim even more for a stolen car.We do have comprehensive insurance.I’m not asking what they will/will not cover. I already know they’ll cover the keys – I don’t know if they’ll cover any sort of rekeying, but I’m not asking that here. I just want to know if it’s typical if you put in a claim for theft if your rates will go up because my mom keeps insisting that they secretly will.

My question(s) are this: I was at a stop light waiting on the light to turn to a green arrow, I behind this truck and we both went under the light. The next thing I know, my car was spinning and I hit the steering wheel. I went to check on the other people to see if they were ok and they were very rude to me claiming I ran the red light when I didn’t, The police came and it ws thier word against mine and I got the ticket.( no witnesses) This was my first wreck and I have been driving since 1987. I sat there and watched these people climb out of there SUV into the ambulance I later looked up thier names online and sure enough, these people have sued about 5 people in the past 7 years. Both the man and his wife sued the hospital. The wife later sued a clothing store for Prejudism and lost. Her and her husband both sued for another car wreck about 3 years ago and lost it and 2 years ago they sued another insurance company for damages not paid. Now, one year later after the car wreck, I got a letter saying they are suing me.( my name was on the lawsuit). They are claiming debilitating injuries and mental anguish but yet they wait 1 year to the date of the wreck to file suit. I was also hurt in the wreck. I ended up with whiplash and my chest hit the sterring wheel but I never tried to sue anyone. I think that’s the problem with this country. People are sue crazy and we wonder why things are the way they are now. My question is this: Do I need a lawyer when we go to court? I don’t really have the money for a lawyer. I am a mother trying to go back to college and trying to raise a mentally handicap son. I also lost my car as a result of this car wreck and had to drop out of college for 7 months so I lost things too. I was served last Wednesday and I took the suit papers to my insurance company but I have not heard anything back from them. Everyone is telling me the worse that could happen is a judgement( which will give me bad credit) I’m already struggling to get through school and raise my family and now this lawsuit. They cant take much if I dont have anything to give. I have this feeling that these people caused the wreck and are in the business of making wrecks happen but I have no proof because I got the ticket in the wreck and I paid the ticket last year. I guess I am screwed. I just pray that the judge will look at the past suits from these people and see how they like to make money the easy way.
