What is with all these runaway questions?

For starters, some background: I am a Jewish teenager. Every year, we go on holiday vacation for school, because it is for all the holidays, not just Christmas. I read people on here saying that only using the 25th of the month for their examples on why people should say Merry Christmas. Excuse me, but there are other days of the month with holidays, and that is not the only day people are on vacation for.



On to my main question though. Christians have been asking why we have a problem with Merry Christmas, well I am flipping it around. What is so wrong with Happy Holidays? It encompasses your holidays, as well as everyone elses. Its not just you, there are many other beliefs and holidays out there, but once it became “Happy Holidays” instead of “Merry Christmas” for whatever reasons, complaints started. So tell me, what is so wrong with encompassing all of the holidays with “Happy Holidays”?MK6: I don’t give a crap the ratio of Christians to Jewish people, your holiday is just as important to you as ours is to us, and by only focusing on Christmas, your shutting out other religions. There is more to the world than Christianity, even if there are more of you.



NAN: The fact that it is general is the point. It encompass all of the religions. No one is left out.

Why Do Christians Have A Problem With “Happy Holidays”?

While I was looking through some drawers, I found a box. I look at it, and it says my mom’s name, and her birth day. It was in the year 1978. Curious, I look through it, and find some pins from her old job (a nurse instructor, i believe), jewelry and other memorable things.



I figured she probably hasn’t seen this stuff for a while. Do you think it would be a nice Christmas present to give to her? Note that I THINK this is a memory box or something, and I’m going to add in a poem and a note that says, “Let’s make new memories together” and we can use the box to add in our own memories or something. I’m also putting in a picture of her holding me in the hospital right after i was born.



I don’t want to put it under the tree because it might be embarrassing for me for her to open it in front of everyone and it might turn out she doesn’t even care about the box. So I’m giving it to her in private on Christmas.



But do you think it’s a good idea for a present? Thanks, and be nice.



Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays, too! :]Oh yeah. If you’re wondering why i can’t just buy her something, I’m only 13 and have no money.



Also, she recently told me that as long as we have good grades, she doesn’t need a present. but i’m feeling generous and want to give her something :]to laestig: you’re right, i never thought of that :/ but i’m also adding in new things to it to, and it could be OUR memory box.



I have some extra perfume that i bought from before, and it’s unused too. i can give her that, then :]

Would this be a good Christmas gift for my mom? (PLEASE answer!)?

I’m trying to find the song online, but I have no idea who sings it. But I can give a detailed description of it so you could help me. It starts off with a man singing first, and every line he sings is repeated by a chorus that sounds like children. For instance:



Man sings: We wish you a merry christmas…and a happy new year…



Then children go: We wish you a merry christmas…and a happy new year.



The entire song is like this. Any help at all would be greatly appreciated. If you know of a song somewhere online that sounds similar to the description above, please posts links.

I like to wish everyone a merry christmas and a happy new years. i’m warning everyone i will make me long awaited return on January 15, 2010. thats when my suspension of Y/A ends due to the cruz azul vs monterrey bet. happy holidays to everyone and i’m asking Santa claus that Cruz Azul will destroy every team in the FMF and become CHAMPION. Hi, I have 4 credits from AP in High School and it doesn’t count for anything in Major and I don’t even need it. I left it there over the years for no reason but now that 4 AP credits is holding me back from getting Financial Aid available to Juniors because it raises my status to a Senior. Is there anyway I can void the 4 AP Credits Credits? I never wanted it to count, and they automatically transferred without my consent and I do not wish to accept them so I would like void them so I may receive my Financial Aid. Is this possible? Has anyone have had this happen to them? This is just the worst news I’ve gotten on the Holidays.

Can I cancel or void AP Credits in College? Plz help?

So! I recently broke up with my boyfriend of three years, partially in order to date a good friend of mine. I’ve had a crush on him for months because he’s amazing. He’s sweet, smart, gratifying and adorable, and somehow he had never been in a relationship before. So the two of us got caught up in quite the fling without anyone noticing, really. We had a lot of fun! So the boy ran off to be with his family for Christmas and I am spending time with the girl who introduced us since she’s alone in her house for the holidays. She’s practically my best friend. I love her dearly, and I was hoping to move in with them after moving out of the place I shared with my ex.



So my female friend here is a genius, who suffers under her genius because she’s fantastically mentally ill individual who also happens to be asexual. She’s got weird vulnerability issues which will never subside long enough for her to get into a sexual relationship, or even a relationship that includes contact. Almost the first thing she says to me when we meet up, through tears, is that she is afraid we’re secretly dating because she’s been in love with this guy for years. I laugh and play it off like nothing, teasing her about her crush and smiling about how wrong she is about our relationship. She feels better! I fuck up. The strangest thing about her crush is that she is asexual (not ‘aromantic’), horribly jealous, and doesn’t want anyone to know about her feelings because that would make things complicated, make her vulnerable. She’s mentally ill, it’s not like I can just be hard on her about it. We’re also good friends and I don’t want to mess it up. She literally said to me that if we were dating she would never be able to look at either of us again. She thought he would get with someone someday that she would be comfortable throwing her hate on, but because it’s me the situation is much more messy. Our friendship might be destroyed. She might have liked two people, ever. The worst part is that my friendship with her suffered a lot from my last relationship, but this is getting a little over the top.



So I immediately message my beau without telling him the real reason for this, her crush on him. I tell him not to tell anyone about us (like we had been planning) and that maybe we shouldn’t be seeing each other anymore. He can’t seem to figure this out, because both know she’s not the crushing type. I can’t just say it to him since her relationship with him is built on a strong friendship. Why wouldn’t she be encouraging? He just can’t understand it, and I can’t really tell him, either. Honesty is so important to him that he can’t just keep it all to himself. He’s really happy about our situation, he wants to brag about it to everyone. We just had sex (his first time), which drives the nail in the coffin over her worries. That happened before I knew about this. It all did. She always complains about his sex drive (like they could have a relationship if he didn’t have one) and I, one of her closest friends, personally acknowledged that problem.



So I can’t tell him her feelings, so he doesn’t really understand anything. But if my relationship with him ever comes up (it will) she’ll know I was lying and hate me forever. The two of them would make a fantastic couple if she wasn’t asexual. He jokes about how they would be perfect for each other, if she wasn’t such a shrew.



So I think the right thing to do would be to tell her about our relationship and that I lied about it, right? What should I say? What should I do? Should I tell her right away or wait until he’s back, so they can talk, too? Should I wait until after Christmas? But it’s all hanging over my head! I’ve never had something like this happen before! I’m mostly afraid I’ll lose them both.
